Wrasse Pulley Rig:

This rig is for use in a medium snaggy area. For very snaggy, use a rotten bottom system (see down). If not very snaggy such as off a breakwater, a one hook flapper will be fine!

Take a length of line, say 2 foot. tie a weight clip onto one end, post a bead, swivel and another bead onto the line, then tie onto another swivel.
Onto the other side of the swivel you just tied onto, put a hooklength of no more than 6 inches on.
Put a size 2-6 aberdeen onto the business end of your hooklength if using rag.
Or a size 2 or 1 short shank wide gape hook if using crab.
Tie your mainline onto the sliding swivel.

For the hooklength and rig body line, use a breaking strain of just under your mainline. I use 20lb braid for wrassing, so I use 18lb mono for the rig.

Ray/Huss Pulley Rig:

Take a length of line of about 3 foot. tie a weight clip with a clip down bit onto one end, post a bead, swivel and another bead onto the line, then tie onto another swivel.
Onto the other side of the swivel you just tied onto, put a hooklength of 3 inches shorter than you put for the rig body line.

Slide one 4/0 hook onto the line then tie the end onto another hook to make a pennel, see below how to bait up a pennel.

For both the rig body and mainline I use 40lb amnesia, if theres some snags out there.

Clip down the bait using the bottom hook, and putting the bend of the hook under the sticking out bit on the weight clip or impact shield etc. I use a 4/5/6oz gripper depending on rod and tidal pull, then lob it as hard as I can for a ray!

Conger Running Leger:

Simple rig for some big fish. Slip a swivel then a bead onto your mainline and tie it onto a swivel, then tie the other swivel end onto a conger trace of +150lb mono or wire using crimps, with a 6/0 on the end and a nice mackerel flapper.

Stick on a 4/5oz gripper, and I set my reels drag as loose as possible, and make sure the fish has definately taken the hook before striking.

In snaggier areas think about swapping the weight clip for a swivel and using a bit of line weaker than your mainline between the swivel and then a weight clip to the weight as a rotten bottom.
